What You’ll Walk Away With
A live, professional WordPress website — your home base on the internet — set up correctly from day one so every income lever you build has a solid foundation to sit on.

6.1

Why You Need a Website (And Why It Has to Be Yours)

Before we get into the setup, let’s address a question that comes up constantly:

“Do I really need a website? Can’t I just use social media?”

You can build income using only social media. People do it. But here’s the problem: social media platforms own your audience. Instagram can suspend your account. TikTok can get banned. YouTube can demonetize your channel. Facebook can change its algorithm overnight and cut your reach by 80%.

When that happens — and it happens regularly — everything you built on that platform disappears or becomes inaccessible overnight.

Your website is the one piece of digital real estate you own completely.

No platform can take it from you. Your content lives there. Your email opt-ins live there. Your affiliate links live there. Your products live there. It is your home base — the hub that every other income lever connects back to.

This is not optional in the Hussle AI System. Every lever in this course benefits from having a website. Some of them — Affiliate Systems, Niche Authority, Digital Products — are almost impossible to build properly without one.

The good news: setting one up is faster and cheaper than most people think.

6.2

What You’re Building (The Simple Version)

You don’t need a complicated website. In fact, a complicated website is worse than a simple one in the early stages. Here’s what you actually need:

✓
A clean, fast-loading homepage that explains what your site is about and who it’s for
✓
A blog section where you publish content (for SEO, affiliate marketing, and authority building)
✓
An about page that introduces you and builds trust
✓
An opt-in page or pop-up that captures email subscribers
✓
A resources or tools page where you list affiliate recommendations

That’s it. Everything else — course pages, product pages, advanced funnels — gets added later as you build specific levers.

We’re building on WordPress. Here’s why WordPress specifically:

→
It powers 43% of all websites on the internet — it’s the global standard
→
More plugins, themes, and integrations than any other platform
→
Complete ownership and control of your content
→
Integrates with every tool we use in this course
→
It’s the platform used by hussledad.com — so every example in this course is based on a real, live setup you can reference

01

6.3 — Step 1

Choose and Register Your Domain

Your domain is your website address — the URL people type to find you. For example: hussledad.com.

Choosing a good domain name

✓Keep it short — ideally 2 words or fewer
✓Make it easy to spell and say out loud
✓Avoid hyphens and numbers — they look unprofessional and are hard to remember
✓Use .com if at all possible — it’s still the most trusted extension worldwide
✓Make it relevant to your niche or your personal brand

Personal Brand Domain

e.g. yourname.com or hussledad.com
Best if you plan to cover multiple topics and build a broad brand with room to grow.

Niche Domain

e.g. affiliatewithAI.com
Best if you’re laser-focused on one niche and want a slight early SEO advantage for specific keywords.

Where to register your domain:

Namecheap
Best combination of price and reliability. Domains typically cost $8–$15/year for .com.
Squarespace
Clean interface, reliable. (Formerly Google Domains)
GoDaddy
Widely used but tends to upsell aggressively — read the checkout carefully.
Action

Go to Namecheap.com, search for your domain name, and register it. This takes less than 10 minutes and costs less than $15. (My best recommendation)

02

6.4 — Step 2

Choose Your Hosting

Web hosting stores your website files and makes them accessible on the internet. Think of your domain as your street address and your hosting as the actual building at that address.

For a new WordPress site, shared hosting is all you need to start — affordable, fast enough, and easy to manage.

6.5 — Step 3

Install WordPress

Once your hosting is set up, installing WordPress is a single click. Every major hosting provider has a one-click WordPress installer in their dashboard.

General process

1.Log into your hosting dashboard (cPanel)
2.Find the “WordPress Installer” or “Auto Installer” option
3.Click “Install WordPress”
4.Choose your domain from the dropdown
5.Set your admin username and password — save these somewhere safe
6.Click Install — it takes 1–3 minutes

Your Site URL

Your Admin Panel

yourdomainname.com/wp-admin

04

6.6 — Step 4

Install Your Theme

A WordPress theme controls the visual design of your site. You don’t need to design anything from scratch — you’re choosing a pre-built design framework and customizing it with your branding.

Used here

Astra

Free version is excellent. Extremely fast, lightweight, and works perfectly with Elementor. Used by hussledad.com.

GeneratePress

Fastest WordPress theme available. Minimal, clean, and great for content-heavy sites.

Kadence

Beautiful, modern designs out of the box. Great free version and very beginner-friendly.

How to install

1.In your WordPress admin, go to Appearance → Themes
2.Click Add New
3.Search for your chosen theme (e.g., “Astra”)
4.Click Install,then Activate

05

6.7 — Step 5

Install Essential Plugins

Plugins are add-ons that extend WordPress’s functionality. Think of them as apps for your website.

You don’t need 30 plugins. Most beginners install too many and slow their site down. Here are the only ones you need to start:

🎨
Elementor/Thrive Suite
Free/$299/yr

Page builder — design pages visually by dragging and dropping. No coding required. This is how you’ll design your homepage, about page, and landing pages.

🔍
Rank Math SEO
Free

SEO plugin — helps you optimize every page and post for search engines. Shows exactly what to fix to rank better on Google. Better than Yoast for most users.

📋
WPForms Lite
Free

Contact forms — lets visitors send you messages. Simple, fast, and reliable.

💾
UpdraftPlus
Free

Backups — automatically backs up your site to Google Drive or Dropbox. You only realize how important this is after something goes wrong. Install it before something goes wrong.

⚡
WP Rocket / W3 Total Cache
WP Rocket ~$59/yr
W3 Cache Free

Caching — makes your site load faster. Site speed is a Google ranking factor and directly impacts how long visitors stay.

🔗
Pretty Links
Free
Essential for Lever 1

Link management — lets you cloak and track affiliate links. Instead of a long ugly URL, you share

yoursite.com

/recommends

/toolname.

How to install plugins

1.Go to Plugins → Add New in your WordPress admin
2.Search for the plugin by name
3.Click Install,then Activate
4.Repeat for each plugin

06

6.8 — Step 6

Basic Site Configuration

Before you start designing, a few important settings to configure in your WordPress admin:

Permalinks

Go to Settings → Permalinks and select Post name. This makes your URLs clean and SEO-friendly (yoursite.com/post-name instead of yoursite.com/?p=123).

Tagline

Go to Settings → General and update your Site Title and Tagline to reflect your brand and niche. This appears in search results and browser tabs.

Cleanup

WordPress installs with sample content — a “Hello World” post and a sample page. Delete both from Posts and Pages in your admin panel.

Homepage

Go to Settings → Reading and set “Your homepage displays” to “A static page.” Create a blank page called “Home” and assign it there. You’ll design it with Elementor.

SSL

Most modern hosts install SSL automatically. Check that your site loads with “https://” (not “http://”). If it doesn’t, contact your host’s support — they’ll fix it in minutes.

07

6.9 — Step 7

Design Your Homepage (Simple Version)

Your homepage has one job in the early stages: tell visitors immediately who you are, who you help, and what they should do next.

Here is the simple homepage structure to build with Elementor:

Section 1
Hero

A headline that states clearly who you help and how. Example: “I Help Regular People Build Real Online Income Using AI Tools and Smart Marketing.” Add a subheadline with more detail and a single call-to-action button: “Get the Free Starter Guide” (your first lead magnet).

Section 2
What This Is

A short paragraph or three bullet points explaining what your site is about and why someone should care.

Section 3
Featured Content

Your three most recent or most important blog posts. This section updates automatically as you publish more content.

Section 4
About (Brief)

Two or three sentences introducing yourself, with a link to your full About page.

Section 5
Email Opt-in ← Most Important

A simple email capture form: “Join [X] readers getting weekly tips on building income with AI.” This connects to your email platform (set up in Module 3 of this section).

Keep it simple. A clean, fast, clear homepage with a strong headline and an email opt-in is infinitely better than a complicated site that takes forever to load and confuses visitors.

6.10

How AI Helps With Your Website

This is where AI starts doing heavy lifting for you.

Writing your homepage copy

Give ChatGPT or Claude a brief and let AI do the heavy lifting — then edit to match your voice.

“I’m building a website about [your niche]. My target audience is [describe them]. Write a homepage headline, subheadline, and a 3-bullet value proposition.”

Writing your About page

Use this as your first draft — includes personal story, what you offer, and why visitors should trust you.

“Write an About page for my website. I’m [your background], I help [your audience] with [your topic]. Include a personal story section, what I offer, and why visitors should trust me.”

Generating blog post ideas

Get months of content ideas in one shot.

“Give me 20 SEO-friendly blog post ideas for a site about [your niche] that would attract beginners interested in [your topic].”

Optimizing existing content

Paste any page or post and get specific improvement suggestions — it’ll catch things you missed every time.

“Review this content for clarity, SEO, and readability. Suggest specific improvements.” [paste your content]
