Part 2
Lever 6 — Lead Magnets
Module 3
Module at a Glance
Reading Time
15–20 minutes
What You’ll Walk Away With
A complete, production-ready lead magnet — fully written and professionally designed — using a step-by-step AI workflow that takes the blank page from idea to finished PDF in under two hours.
L6M3.1
Two Hours Is Enough
The biggest reason most online entrepreneurs don’t have a lead magnet is not that they don’t know they need one. It’s that they imagine the creation process as a weeks-long project — writing, designing, revising, perfecting — that they never quite find the time for.
With AI in your workflow, that timeline collapses dramatically. Claude writes. Canva designs. You direct, edit, and add the human layer.
Resource Toolkit
60–90 minutes
Email Mini-Course
3–4 hours
The goal of this module is to remove the production barrier entirely. By the end, you will have a finished lead magnet — not a plan, not an outline, not a draft in progress. A finished, designed, ready-to-publish PDF.
L6M3.2
Before You Open Any Tool: The 10-Minute Planning Session
Every good lead magnet starts with a clear answer to three questions. Spend 10 minutes on these before touching Claude or Canva — it will save you hours of revision later.
Question 1
Who is this for, exactly?
Not “beginners” — too vague.
✓
“Beginners who have just launched a WordPress blog and don’t know how to get their first 100 email subscribers.”
Question 2
What single problem does it solve?
One problem. Not three, not a comprehensive overview. The person who downloads your lead magnet should be able to describe their problem in one sentence and have your lead magnet speak directly to it.
Question 3
What will they be able to do after using it?
Describe the specific capability or outcome — clear and testable.
✓
“After using this checklist, they will be able to publish a fully SEO-optimized blog post without missing a single step.”
💡
Write your answers to all three in a single document. This becomes your brief — the filter you run every piece of content through as you produce the lead magnet.
L6M3.3
Workflow A — The Checklist
30–45 minutes
The fastest lead magnet you can produce.
Step 01
Generate the checklist content with ChatGPT
10 min
Prompt
“Create a comprehensive checklist for [specific process your audience does]. My audience is [describe]. The checklist should cover every important step from start to finish. Format it as a numbered list of 20–30 specific, actionable items. Each item should be a clear action — not a vague guideline. Group items into 4–5 logical sections with section headers.”
Review the output. Add steps you know from experience that the AI missed. Remove anything irrelevant or obvious. The checklist should feel like it was written by someone who has done this dozens of times — which, combined with your edit, it effectively has.
Step 02
Write the introduction with Claude
5 min
Prompt
“Write a short introduction (100 words) for a checklist called ‘[checklist name].’ The reader is [describe]. This checklist helps them [outcome]. Open with a line that acknowledges their current frustration. End with a one-sentence instruction on how to use the checklist.”
Step 03
Design in Canva
15–20 min
01Open Canva → search “Checklist” in templates
02Pick a clean template that matches your brand colors
03Replace the title with your checklist name
04Add your introduction text at the top
05Replace template list items with AI-generated checklist — formatted in sections with headers
06Add your logo or brand name at the bottom
07Add a footer: “hussledad.com | [your tagline]”
Export as PDF. Your checklist is done.
L6M3.4
Workflow B — The Resource Toolkit
60–90 minutes
Step 01
Research and curate the resources
20–30 min
Perplexity prompt
“What are the best tools, resources, and references for someone who wants to [achieve the goal your toolkit serves]? Cover [list the categories you want to include].”
Cross-reference with your own experience. Your toolkit should include only tools you have genuine reason to recommend. For each tool, note:
→Tool name and URL (your affiliate URL where applicable)
→One sentence on what it does
→Who it is best for
→Free vs paid and starting price
Step 02
Write the toolkit content with Claude
20 min
Prompt
“Write concise descriptions for each tool in this resource toolkit for [describe your audience]. For each tool, write: (1) a one-sentence description of what it does, (2) one sentence on why I recommend it specifically for [your audience], (3) the pricing tier (free/freemium/paid from $X/month). Here are the tools: [list your curated tools with basic info].”
Edit the output. Add personal notes or recommendations from your own experience — these are the lines that make the toolkit feel genuine rather than AI-generated.
Step 03
Design in Canva
20–30 min
01Search Canva for “Resource Guide” or “Toolkit” templates — choose a multi-page template (3–8 pages)
02Page 1: Cover — toolkit name, your brand, a compelling subtitle
03Pages 2–N: Tool categories with name, description, and “Visit →” link
04Final page: About you (2 sentences) + your website and email
Export as PDF with links enabled — affiliate URLs must be clickable.
L6M3.5
Workflow C — The Short Ebook
90–120 minutes
A 10–15 page ebook — substantial enough to feel valuable, short enough to be readable.
Step 01
Create the outline with Claude
10 min
Prompt
“Create a detailed outline for a 10–15 page ebook titled ‘[your title]’ for [your audience]. The ebook should help them [outcome]. Structure it with: an introduction, 4–5 main chapters (each covering one key concept or step), and a conclusion with next steps. For each chapter, provide 3–4 bullet points describing what it covers.”
Review and adjust the outline. This is where you add your unique perspective — reorder sections, add topics the AI missed, remove anything that doesn’t serve the reader.
Step 02
Write each section with Claude
40–50 min
Write the ebook section by section. For each chapter:
Per-chapter prompt
“Write the ‘[chapter title]’ chapter of this ebook. Based on the outline: [paste chapter description]. Keep it between 300–500 words. Use a conversational American English tone. Be specific and actionable — include real examples, concrete steps, or direct recommendations. End each chapter with one key takeaway in bold.”
After each section
→Add personal examples or experience where relevant
→Verify any facts or statistics
→Ensure tone is consistent throughout
Write the introduction last — after you know exactly what the ebook covers.
Step 03
Design in Canva
30–40 min
01Search for “Ebook” templates — choose a multi-page template with a strong cover design
02Build the cover: title, subtitle, your name/brand, a compelling visual
03Add a table of contents page
04Design each chapter with consistent formatting — chapter title as H1, section headings as H2, callout boxes for key takeaways
05Add your bio and CTA on the final page
Export as PDF with links enabled.
L6M3.6
Workflow D — The Email Mini-Course
3–4 hours
Fast-track version. 5-day email course — deepest subscriber engagement of any format.
Step 01
Design the curriculum
15 min
Map out 5 lessons. Write one sentence describing the learning objective of each.
Day 1
The foundation concept or mindset shift
Day 2
The first action step
Day 3
The second action step (builds on Day 2)
Day 4
The third action step — the hardest part, where most people get stuck
Day 5
The complete picture + next steps → transition to your offer
Step 02
Write all 5 lessons with Claude
60–90 min
Per-lesson prompt
“Write Lesson [number] of a 5-day email mini-course called ‘[course name].’ This lesson covers [lesson objective]. My audience is [describe]. The lesson should: open with a brief recap of what we’ve covered so far, deliver the core concept or action step in 300–400 words, include one specific real-world example, and end with one clear action step the reader should complete today. Conversational American English. Write as if speaking directly to one person.”
Step 03
Set up the automation in MailerLite
60–90 min
01Create a new automation in MailerLite
02Trigger: subscriber joins your mini-course group
03Email 1: immediate delivery — welcome + Lesson 1
04Add a 1-day delay → Email 2: Lesson 2
05Repeat with 1-day delays for Lessons 3, 4, and 5
06Final email: Lesson 5 + transition to your paid recommendation or affiliate offer
Test the entire sequence by subscribing yourself with a test email address before publishing.
L6M3.7
Universal Finishing Touches
Regardless of format, every lead magnet should include these final elements before going live.
🎨
Your branding
Logo, brand colors, and consistent fonts throughout. Canva’s Brand Kit feature makes this automatic for Pro users.
✍️
A clear title
Specific, benefit-driven, and compelling. Under 10 words.
“Generate 10 title options for a lead magnet that [describe what it does] for [your audience]. Make each title specific, benefit-driven, and under 10 words.”
📬
Your contact information
Website URL and email at minimum. This is how subscribers reach you if they have questions — and it personalizes the resource.
👉
A next step
Every lead magnet should end with a clear, single next step. Not five options — one.
e.g.“Visit hussledad.com/resources for more tools.”
e.g.“Reply to your welcome email with your biggest question.”
⚖️
Affiliate disclosure (if applicable)
If your lead magnet contains affiliate links, disclose them. A one-line disclosure at the beginning of the document is sufficient.
